Well, the short version is this:

I started playing the guitar in 1987. From 1989 to 1994 I was part of the "post-punk/grunge/noise" band me and emma out of Charlotte, N.C. me and emma played around North Carolina and opened for several well-known acts that came through Charlotte.

In 1995 I recorded my first solo project, Chevelle. More of an attempt to deal with and understand things than anything else, Chevelle did receive a bit of positive critical attention and Charlotte's "Creative Loafing" was kind enough to name me "Best Local Male Solo Artist 1995".

Over the next 10 years I continued to write and record but rarely played in public or shared my work with anyone. In 2005 I started playing in public again (albeit sparingly) and I began to post some of my stuff on the web.
